The Curiosity Door

Updated: Aug 1, 2019

I was spending some quality Twitter time reading blogs and articles and political rants when I came across this gem. It is a great article about Google tools to use in your classroom and it is based around the popular Netflix show, Stranger Things. My family and I love this show. In fact, we watched all 8 episodes of the third season over the course of two days recently. Admittedly, this is what drew me into the article at first. There is some great information in it about technology and I highly recommend that you read it when you have time. One question it asked, though, was, "How are you encouraging your students to always open the curiosity door?" (Bell, 2019). Boom. There it is. The question that keeps an educator honest. That is because education is more than just students regurgitating information back to the teacher(s) who gave it to them. It has to be! What is the point in learning things that are already known? Isn't the point of education to teach students how to learn?
